PTOLEMAIC KINGS OF EGYPT. Ptolemy I Soter, As satrap, 323-305 BC. Drachm (Silver, 16 mm, 3.30 g, 12 h), Ptolemaic standard, Alexandria, circa 310/9. Diademed head of the deified Alexander III to right, with horn of Zeus Ammon above his ear, wearing elephant skin headdress and aegis around his neck. Rev. [ΑΛ]ΕΞΑΝΔΡΟΥ Athena Alkidemos advancing right, brandishing spear with her right hand and holding shield in her left; in inner left field, monogram; to right, [eagle standing right on thunderbolt] above EY. CPE 52. SNG Copenhagen 16. Svoronos 45. Rare. Somewhat rough and with a small scuff on the obverse, otherwise, very fine.
